Course Overview

Super AI Companion is an AI literacy course for students in grades 2–4. With a conversational, mobile AI robot dog as their partner, and the main line of “know your companion, command your companion, create your companion,” students approach artificial intelligence through real interaction and feel what it is like when AI steps out of the screen. Course content covers AI interaction experiences, embodied intelligence awareness, Python programming basics, sensor conditionals, loops, and more. Students personally try voice dialogue, visual recognition, voice cloning, persona and knowledge-base setup, and motion choreography, then use code to make the dog move and perform—completing works of their own.

Grades 2–4 course cover
Grades 2–4
16 class periods
Self-Directed Learning
Actively explore the robot dog’s features and programming commands, try different parameters and combinations, and through repeated trial runs learn to observe phenomena, compare results, and find patterns.
Independent Decision-Making
When facing multiple implementation options, independently compare effects and make choices; adjust ideas based on run results and peer feedback until the dog performs the intended action.
Self-Management
Orderly manage code files and device accounts; complete connection, coding, and running step by step; allocate time reasonably and finish works within class.
Engineering Thinking
Break tasks into executable steps and solve problems with the flow “conceive → code → run → debug”; keep improving when results deviate or limits appear until the effect meets the goal.
Computational Thinking
Understand that code runs top to bottom; turn ideas into line-by-line instructions; use variables, conditionals, and loops so repeated actions complete automatically.
Design Thinking
Start from the kind of companion you want it to be; design the dog’s persona and motion presentation; build a prototype first, then test and adjust to complete a full work.
Cultural Understanding
Learn how artificial intelligence moves from the screen into the real world; recognize forms and applications of embodied intelligence; build awareness of viewing AI outputs dialectically and protecting personal privacy.
Communication & Collaboration
In groups, divide work to debug devices and share coding experience; give clear instructions to the robot dog; explain works to peers and offer constructive feedback.
Critical Thinking & Innovation
When spotting recognition errors or motion deviations, analyze causes and try optimizations; tell whether AI claims are true or made up; do not settle for “it runs, so it’s fine.”
A Real Companion, Off the Screen
You operate a real robot dog—say a word or write a line of code, and it truly looks, walks, and responds.
Zero-Barrier Start
No prior coding required—smoothly move from graphical blocks to Python code.
A Work Every Lesson
Walk a square, choreograph a dance, build an earthquake alarm—every lesson’s outcome can be shown.
Broad Skill Coverage
Covers voice interaction, visual recognition, persona setup, sensor conditionals, and more.
