"Learning by Doing" AI Practice – Grades 7–9 (Software)
Middle School24 lessons
Course Overview
This course follows the main line of “Apply — Create — Present,” guiding students to use AI agents and mini program development technologies in real projects, and to experience a complete AI-empowered creation workflow from creative expression to product delivery. In Grade 7, students learn AI agent concepts and applications, use agents for practical tasks such as file management, travel planning, and a study butler, and develop interactive games with AI-assisted programming. In Grade 8, they learn WeChat mini program design and development workflows, from needs analysis to interface building, master basic usage of the four file types wxml, wxss, js, and json, and complete a personal name-card mini program. In Grade 9, they learn deep fusion of generative AI and mini programs, apply MVP thinking to complete “AI and Life” themed works, and master the full mini program production process.

Competency Goals
Self-Directed Learning
Actively explore AI agent and mini program development methods, discover and solve problems independently in project practice; use AI tools to assist learning while critically evaluating the accuracy of AI outputs and adopting AI-generated results with care.
Independent Decision-Making
When choosing features and deciding on plans in mini program design and AI work creation, collect information for comparison and analysis, and make reasonable choices based on independent judgment.
Self-Management
Independently plan progress for mini program development, work iteration, and project submission; allocate class time reasonably; record each test result and adjust the optimization direction accordingly.
Engineering Thinking
Understand the engineering flow of mini programs—“needs analysis → design → development → testing → release”—and evaluate and optimize solutions under technical constraints.
Computational Thinking
Decompose mini program development tasks into modules such as page structure, style, and logic; use variables, arrays, conditions, and other programming structures for abstract modeling; analyze and fix program errors.
Design Thinking
Design mini programs and AI applications from user needs, use MVP thinking to focus on core features, and iteratively improve work experience based on test feedback.
Cultural Understanding
In “AI and Life” work creation, understand the relationship between technology and society, recognize possible cultural bias in AI training data, and think about ways technology can serve society.
Communication & Collaboration
Clearly describe needs to AI assistants and agents, and integrate AI-generated content with personal creativity; effectively express project value in pitch presentations, listen to feedback, and refine works.
Critical Thinking & Innovation
Identify errors and limitations in AI-generated content (code, copy, design), independently evaluate their reasonableness; propose personally creative improvements based on existing AI capabilities.
Course Advantages
Real Training, Real Experience
Students use real AI agents to complete practical tasks such as file management and travel planning, personally develop WeChat mini programs that can be published online, and understand the application value of AI through real project delivery.
Stepwise Progression
From AI agent applications, to mini program design and production, then to deep fusion with generative AI and pitch submission—three stages rise in a spiral so beginners can keep up step by step.
AI-Assisted Programming in Practice
With a mini program AI assistant, students quickly generate mini program code by describing needs in natural language, experiencing early the human–AI collaborative development workflow of “describe needs → AI generates → debug and refine.”
Real Project Delivery
Students go through a complete product process from needs analysis and prototype design to development and testing, publishing online, and pitch submission; the WeChat mini programs they produce can truly be shared and used, building product thinking and project delivery ability.
