Course Overview

The Informatics Olympiad foundations track is an advanced youth programming path for students strongly interested in computer science—the systematic route toward olympiad competition. Three stages (Stage 0, 1, and 2) build progressively from programming introduction to competition readiness. Stage 0: Programming & Math Introduction Zero-base entry deeply combines programming thinking with elementary math. Using C++, students start with variables, types, and operators, then sequence, branches, and loops, through 1D and 2D arrays—without functions or heavier concepts. Math word problems and logic puzzles teach expressing math through code. Stage 1: Full C++ Syntax & Basic Algorithms Building on Stage 0, core syntax includes functions, pointers, structs, and strings for complete programs. Basic algorithms—enumeration, simulation, sorting, searching, recurrence and recursion—prepare students for entry-level olympiad problems. Stage 2: Core Olympiad Algorithms Focused on CSP-J (Junior) exam scope: fundamental data structures (stack, queue, linked list, tree, graph), advanced algorithms (DP, graph algorithms, search and pruning, greedy, basic number theory), plus debugging and contest strategy. Extensive past papers and mock contests build full competition readiness for CSP-J.

Programming Practice & Problem Solving
C++ coding, algorithm debugging, and problem sets strengthen syntax, debugging, and decomposition for math and logic challenges.
Computational Thinking Foundations
From variables and sequence through branches, loops, arrays, functions, to enumeration, recurrence, and recursion—logical reasoning, pattern recognition, abstraction, and optimization grow step by step.
Engineering Thinking
Modular design, boundary testing, multi-solution comparison, and optimization build maintainable, efficient, robust code habits.
Cross-Disciplinary Application
Elementary math, logic, and combinatorics merge with programming for exploratory learning and knowledge transfer.
Innovation & Competition Mindset
Fun challenges, mock contests, and open projects move students from imitation to design—from single problems to full solutions—for olympiad readiness.
Low Barrier, Easy Start
Programming plus math entry with fun cases instead of dry syntax—suited to upper elementary cognition, zero experience friendly.
Interactive, High Feedback
Instant program results, tiered challenges, and classroom practice with quick correction and positive reinforcement.
Progressive Learning Path
Stage 0 through Stage 2—from syntax to full algorithm systems—paced to cognitive development.
Integrated Skill Development
Beyond coding and algorithms—computational and engineering thinking, cross-disciplinary use, and innovation together.
Competition-Aligned Training
Fully aligned with CSP-J scope, past papers, and mocks for familiar contest modes and advanced study.
