Competency Goals
Self-Directed Learning
A "review then advance" rhythm helps students actively recap, follow a self-learning flow of "ask AI with a question → understand the answer → verify before use," preview content, use AI for research, and adjust independently in projects.
Independent Decision-Making
Multiple real decision points train students to analyze pros and cons before choosing and to justify their choices.
Self-Management
A consistent lesson structure builds task rhythm; multi-session projects (business cards, city walk) train sustained progress on large tasks, and capstone work requires coordinating presentation content and time.
Engineering Thinking
Students experience the full flow: needs analysis → design → prototype → test and iterate → presentation. Every bug fix is authentic engineering practice as they advance a complete product like engineers.
Computational Thinking
Covers sequence, loops, and conditionals; students learn JSON modeling, wx:for list handling, and random-number algorithms for features.
Design Thinking
Products start from user pain points. The full five-step design process (empathize → define → ideate → prototype → test) helps students understand that "design serves people."
Cultural Understanding
Using China's homegrown WeChat Mini Program platform, students learn the cultural context of domestic technology and share Chinese history and culture digitally (e.g., AI Terracotta Warrior guides).
Communication & Collaboration
Group projects run throughout, with dedicated "project pitch" training—structured introductions, motivation, challenges, and solutions—building presentation and structured expression skills.
Critical Thinking & Innovation
From comparing app strengths to code debugging and "understand AI suggestions before using them," students learn evidence-based judgment, responsible AI use, and personal creative extensions on top of technology.
