Visual Programming V3.0
Course Overview
Block-based programming is a creative software programming course for beginners and a widely used international entry point for youth programming. More than 140 command modules encapsulate instructions that control computers, with block-like connectors distinguished by color and shape to form a system suited to adolescent learning. Students program by selecting, dragging, and snapping blocks with the mouse—simple, fun, and accessible. The course uses ST Education's proprietary block programming platform, supporting both in-person and online teaching. With a rich asset library, students can fully express creativity and build animations, games, utilities, and other projects.

Competency Goals
Computational Thinking
From basic structures such as sequence, loops, and conditionals to advanced concepts like variables, functions, lists, and algorithms, students gradually build systematic thinking: "decompose problem → design solution → code → debug and optimize." They apply logical reasoning and algorithmic thinking to real problems. Digital Learning & Innovation: programming becomes a cross-disciplinary tool integrating math, language arts, English, science, and art, guiding students through the full digital creation flow from needs analysis to publication.
Digital Learning & Innovation
Programming serves as a cross-disciplinary learning tool, integrating math, language arts, English, science, and art. Students experience the full digital creation process from needs analysis to publishing and build practical ability to use digital tools for learning and creative expression.
Information Awareness
Students understand the relationship between data and program state, recognize how variables, random numbers, and other information handling work in programs, and develop early data awareness and information analysis skills.
Information Responsibility
During digital creation, students develop rule awareness and responsibility—including respect for intellectual property, lawful use of technology, information security, and positive values in programming content (such as environmental protection and civil behavior).
Course Advantages
Spiral Progression
Spiral design aligned with ages 7–10: core concepts deepen step by step so foundations stay solid and learning grows steadily—not rushed cramming.
Cross-Disciplinary Integration
15+ fun cross-disciplinary projects blend language arts, math, science, art, and more. Programming becomes a thinking tool for real problems, helping children see the value of "learning for application."
PBL Eight-Step Method
From scenario introduction to project analysis, hands-on practice to reflection and sharing—students experience the full "needs analysis → design → code → test → optimize" development flow and build systematic problem-solving ability.
Aligned with New Standards
Closely aligned with CSTA international standards and China's new Information Technology curriculum standards, systematically developing computational thinking with measurable outcomes and a strong foundation for later Python and C++ study.
